Supervisory Social Worker

Summary This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.
This position is located at the Great Plains Area Youth Regional Treatment Center, Wakpala, SD.
The Licensed Social Worker oversees the professional duties involved in the rehabilitation of the presenting adolescents at the treatment center.
Responsibilities Advises GPA BH Program Director and facility Clinical Director in the formulation of programs, policies and procedures, and allocations of resources.
Consults and provides input on program content, training, and quality assurance involving the Great Plains Area Youth Regional Treatment Center Manages Drug Dependency Unit.
Expertise in the development and delivery of crisis intervention, and tertiary intervention, and rehabilitated behavioral health services to children, families, and groups.
Integrated care to overall general clinic operations.
Facilitates adherence to Federal, State, & Tribal laws, regulations, plans, and Memoranda of Understanding as they pertain to Behavioral Health and tribal families and communities.

Qualifications:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-12:
1 year of specialized experience that equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position.
This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement.
Examples Include:
ensuring a streamlined, effective and accountable utilization of resource throughout the area served; identifying trends and problems and resolving problems between programs and administration; consulting with Tribal Governments in formulating, planning and executing of the fiscal budget for an Area Office or Regional Office; working directly with or managing programs for families, addictions, suicide prevention and awareness, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders diagnostic issues, concurring mental health and substance abuse issues; supervising, planning, directing, and evaluating overall activities in a department.
Selective Placement Factor:
Professional knowledge of social services as evidenced by possession of licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and dually credentialed as a Clinical Social Worker and a substance use disorder (SUD).
Time In Grade (Merit Promotion Candidates Only) Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:

Additional Information Per IHS policy (SGM 21-04) IHS selectees to positions located in Federally operated hospitals, health centers, and clinics must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 before entry on duty or have IHS approve a medical or religious exemption.

Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
